Student Self-Placement allows programs to let students create their own clinical placements for selected course offerings.

Program Administrators can:

• Enable student self-placement at the program level.

• Choose specific course offerings where self-placement is allowed.

• Decide whether student-submitted placements require approval or are automatically accepted.

• Review, approve, or reject student self-placements (if approval is enabled).

Enable Student Self-Placement

Access Placement Setup 

1. Login to Exxat Prism using your university credentials and navigate to Placements from the dashboard or the hamburger menu. 
   

2. In the left menu, click Setup and go to the Student Self-Placement section. 
   

    

Enable Student Self-Placement

1. Enable Self-Placement for Students

   • Turn on Enable self-placement for students

   • (Optional) Enable self-placement by default for newly added course offerings
     

2. Select the course offerings for which the self-placements for students should be enabled. 

   1. Click Manage Course Offerings
      .

   2. Select the course offerings.
      Use the filter options or search in the left menu to find the required course quickly.
      

   3. Click Next

   4. Review the selection and click Save. 
      Click Previous to go back and make changes to the course offerings selected. 
      
      students can now perform self-placement for the Course offerings selected.

3. Select Approval Behavior
   Under Self-Placement Approval Settings, choose one:

   • Requires approval from school – student submissions must be reviewed and approved by the program administrator.

   • Auto-approve placements on student submission – placements are accepted and approved immediately.
     

Review Student Self-Placements

1. Login to Exxat Prism using your university credentials and navigate to Placements from the dashboard or the hamburger menu. 
   
2. Click on a Course Offering or select Placement Groups and navigate to the Placements tab.
3. Go to Student Self-Placements.
   1. Placement requests that require administrator approval
      1. If the student self-placement requires administrator approval the count of requests pending approval is listed on the button.
         
         The placement requests are auto filtered by Pending Review. Review the placement requests.
      2. Select the  student(s) to Approve or Reject the Placement request. 
      3. Click Approve or Reject.
         
   2. Placements requests that are auto approved. 
      The student self-placement section will list all the placements by students for the course offering or placement group.
