I wanted to raise a concern regarding the current data integration setup. It appears that the student email address is being used as the unique identifier, rather than the student ID.
Looking ahead, this may continue to be problematic, as student email addresses can change, especially when students update their names, which often results in a new email address being generated. In contrast, the student ID remains consistent over time and would serve as a more reliable and stable unique identifier.
Could you please confirm whether the student ID is currently being used as the unique identifier in the integration? If the email address is indeed being used, would it be possible to transition to using the student ID instead?
Additionally, I’ve noticed that the student ID does not appear to be a required field in EXXAT. Given its importance for maintaining consistent records and avoiding duplication, it may be worth considering making this a required field moving forward.
While we understand that the student email address is a required field, we are encountering cases of duplicate account, particularly when the email address is the same but there is a variation in capitalization of the student’s first and last names, or when a name change results in a new email address being issued.
Thank you for your attention to this matter. We appreciate your support in helping ensure data accuracy and integrity.
