CAPTE (Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education) Reports

CAPTE Reports are comprehensive evaluations of physical therapy programs conducted by the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE). These reports assess various aspects of a program, including its curriculum, faculty, clinical experiences, facilities, and student outcomes. CAPTE reports are crucial for ensuring program quality, identifying areas for improvement, and providing information to students, employers, and other stakeholders.

There are several reports that can be considered as the CAPTE Reports, in the Exxat Prism system we have divided them in two groups CAPTE Reports & General Reports. To access these reports please follow the steps outlined: 

CAPTE Reports 

1. Average CI Teaching Effectiveness (CAPTE 2024 4P /2016 4O)

CAPTE 2024 4P /2016 4O report analyzes student ratings on various aspects of CI teaching, such as knowledge, communication, and mentorship. By comparing these ratings and identifying trends, the report provides insights into the effectiveness of clinical instruction and highlights areas for improvement. This information is crucial for enhancing the educational experience of physical therapy students and ensuring they are adequately prepared for professional practice.

1. To access the report, click on 'Learning Activities' on the dashboard. 

2. In the 'Learning Activities' page, click on 'Reports'

3. Next you can click on the report name 'Average CI Teaching Effectiveness (Standard 2024 4P/2016 4O)'

4. After clicking the report name, select the Group & Rotation from the dropdown and click 'Download Report'

2. Involvement in Interprofessional Practice and Supervision of PTAs (CAPTE 2024 6F/2016 6L3, 6L4)

In physical therapy education, CAPTE 2024 6F/2016 6L3, 6L4 assess a student's ability to collaborate with other healthcare professionals and supervise physical therapy assistants. These standards are evaluated through question 14 on the PTSE 1, which focuses on the student's experiences with Professional teamwork and PTA supervision. The student's understanding of different healthcare roles, communication skills, delegation abilities, and ability to evaluate PTA performance are key aspects assessed in these standards.

1. To access the report, click on 'Learning Activities' on the dashboard.

2. In the 'Learning Activities' page, click on 'Reports'.

3. Next you can click on the report name 'Involvement in Interprofessional Practice and Supervision of PTAs (CAPTE 2024 6F/2016 6L3, 6L4)'

4. After clicking the report name, select the Group & Rotation from the dropdown and click 'Download Report'

3. Patient Disease and Condition, Practice Across Lifespan and Continuum of Care (CAPTE 2024 6H / 2016 6L1)

CAPTE 2024 6H / 2016 6L1 assesses a physical therapy student's ability to treat patients of all ages and in various healthcare settings. Students are evaluated on their understanding of different diseases, their ability to adapt treatment plans based on patient age and condition, and their knowledge of the continuum of care. Through question 7 on the PTSE 1, students demonstrate their ability to apply their knowledge and skills in real-world clinical experiences.

1. To access the report, click on 'Learning Activities' on the dashboard.

2. In the 'Learning Activities' page, click on 'Reports'.

3. Next you can click on the report name 'Patient Disease and Condition, Practice Across Lifespan and Continuum of Care (CAPTE 2024 6H / 2016 6L1)'

4. After clicking the report name, select the Group & Rotation from the dropdown and click 'Download Report'

4. Practice Settings (CAPTE 2024 6H / 2016 6L2)

CAPTE 2024 6H / 2016 6L2 assesses a physical therapy student's ability to work in various clinical settings. Students are evaluated on their understanding of different practice environments, their ability to adapt treatment plans based on the specific setting, and their ability to collaborate with other healthcare professionals. Through question 3 on the PTSE 1, students demonstrate their knowledge and skills in different clinical settings.

1. To access the report, click on 'Learning Activities' on the dashboard.

2. In the 'Learning Activities' page, click on 'Reports'.

3. Next you can click on the report name 'Practice Settings (CAPTE 2024 6H / 2016 6L2)'

4. After clicking the report name, select the Group & Rotation from the dropdown and click 'Download Report'

5. Total Qualifications of CIs (CAPTE 2024 4P / 2016 4O)

CAPTE 2024 4P / 2016 4O evaluates the qualifications and experience of clinical instructors who mentor physical therapy students. The CI Details form collects information about their educational background, clinical experience, teaching experience, and evaluation skills. This data helps ensure students are supervised by qualified professionals and provides insights for improving clinical experiences.

1. To access the report, click on 'Learning Activities' on the dashboard.

2. In the 'Learning Activities' page, click on 'Reports'.

3. Next you can click on the report name 'Total Qualifications of CIs (CAPTE 2024 4P / 2016  4O)'

4. After clicking the report name, select the Group & Rotation from the dropdown and click 'Download Report'

6. Number and Variety of clinical sites (Standard 2C)

Standard 2C evaluates the number and variety of clinical sites available to physical therapy students. It aims to ensure students have diverse experiences in different settings. The report analyzes data on the number of clinical sites, their types, how many slots are filled, and the geographic distribution to assess the quality of clinical education and identify areas for improvement.

1. To access the report, click on 'Placements' on the dashboard

2. In the 'Placement Page' page, select the group and click on 'Placements for Group'.

3. On the next page click on 'Reports' from the top tab and click on the report name 'Number and Variety of clinical sites (Standard 2C)'

4. After clicking the report name, select the Rotation from the dropdown and click 'Download Report'

7. Number and Variety of clinical slots (Standard 8F)

Standard 8F evaluates the quantity and diversity of clinical slots available to physical therapy students. It aims to ensure students have enough opportunities to gain experience in various settings. The report analyzes the total number of slots, the variety of settings they represent, their geographic distribution, and the diversity of patient populations to assess the quality of clinical education and identify areas for improvement.

1. To access the report, click on 'Placements' on the dashboard

2. In the 'Placement Page' page, select the group and click on 'Placements for Group'.

3. On the next page click on 'Reports' from the top tab and click on the report name 'Number and Variety of clinical slots (Standard 8F)'

4. After clicking the report name, select the Rotation from the dropdown, you can choose to include the Cancelled slots by checking the box and click 'Download Report'
