Exxat Prism is built to support PA programs preparing for their accreditation. Programs have access to comprehensive reporting based on your Program Information, including:
Site, Slot, and Placement Reports – Track clinical capacity, utilization, and student placement patterns.
Learning Activities Reports – Document student learning experiences across courses and rotations.
Student Performance Reports – Generate clear, outcomes-based evidence of student assessments and progression.
Curriculum Mapping Reports – Demonstrate alignment between curriculum and accreditation standards.
This document outlines which Exxat Prism reports best address each standard and how they can be incorporated into your Self-Study Report (SSR) or other accreditation submissions. To make your accreditation journey easier, we also included the crosswalk so programs using either edition can quickly reference the standards and identify which data and reports provide the required evidence.

Requirement
Exxat Prism allows programs to define program mission and vision statements, p directly into the system in the Program Details page.
The Curriculum Mapping module offers powerful capabilities that help programs meet accreditation standards by documenting and reporting how each course aligns with required criteria. It allows programs to monitor overall mapping progress, visualize curriculum coverage, and quickly identify any gaps in the curriculum.
The ARC-PA accreditation standards come pre-loaded, allowing programs to begin mapping their curriculum right away. Programs can also add custom, program-specific standards and student learning outcomes, map them to their curriculum, and generate reports that show how their courses align with both ARC-PA and institutional requirements.
Programs can set up course attributes and course measure attributes to track elements like ILOs and PLOs. Mapping attributes also be used to classify curriculum content as knowledge-based, skill-based, or behavior-based and define instructional levels (beginner, intermediate, advanced). The course attributes can be linked to each course to show which teaching methods and assessments are used and the mapping attributes can be used to show the student progression across the courses and at what level.
A wide range of curriculum mapping reports are available, offering both high-level overviews and granular detail. Reports can be generated for different stakeholders and can be organized by standards or by courses.
-
Mapped Standards report - Programs can generate this report from the curriculum mapping data to clearly illustrate how each course aligns with ARC-PA standards and associated learning objectives.
-
Cumulative report - This report showcases how each course aligns with multiple standards, including accreditation requirements, licensure blueprints, student learning outcomes, and similar.
Accreditation Standard – B1.02
Requirement
All courses including didactic and clinical experiences can be added and mapped to different standards to reinforce the program’s goals and mission.
Exxat Prism allows programs to map an entire course to a standard for a high-level view of how that standard is covered across courses. Some programs prefer a more detailed approach and choose to map individual course objectives which is also supported
Faculty can review and update their course objectives, outcomes and mappings directly in Exxat Prism and use tags to easily identify the information that needs review. This helps ensure consistency between faculty discussions and documentation, aligning with the accreditation standards.
Programs can use Exxat Prism to identify gaps in the mappings using the Mapped courses and Mapped standards reports.
Exxat Prism provides reports such as
Course attributes and Mapping attributes to view the progression of the curriculum and provide evidence of where and how these learning objectives are taught and assessed.
The Mapping Attribute Report is a multi-layered report that displays not only where content is mapped, but also the level at which it is taught and whether the content is knowledge based, skill based or behavior based.

- Utilize Exxat Prism’s Slot Request functionality to get information on the confirmed slots from your clinical sites for your SCPE scheduling. This way, the ‘slots offered’ column shows you true confirmed availability.
- Ensure that Affiliation agreements are uploaded on Exxat Prism. If the agreement covers multiple programs/departments of the University, ensure that it specifically calls out ‘PA students’ coverage in them. Multiple PA programs have received citations on this standard due to these agreements covering the medical school/allied health school in general and not calling out ‘PA program students’ explicitly.

Accreditation Standard – B3.03 a-c
Requirement
B3.03 a-c standard requires you to define the program outcomes for each of the above categories, make stakeholders aware, describe the process, methods, and data that students have achieved the learning outcomes in the categories called out in the standard.
Including assessment data based on evaluations by preceptors/faculty may help programs verify that all students were able to meet the program’s student learning outcomes.
Best practice
- Define Program learning outcomes covering all the above categories from a-e.
- These learning outcomes should be listed in the course syllabi as well as rotation evaluations.
- Course syllabi should be shared with students and preceptors in Exxat Prism.
- Ensure that mid-point and end of rotation evaluation of student by preceptor is exactly the same.
- PA programs have received citations when the mid-point and end of rotation evaluations do not match as students may receive formative feedback at mid-point but their assessment at the end of rotation has now changed.

Accreditation Standard – B3.04 a-d
Requirement
B3.04 a-d standard requires programs to demonstrate the placement schedules for each student across all four settings. This can be showcased via four different reports. Data on patient encounters logged by students under the above settings, data from students evaluating the sites and preceptors, and School admin/faculty assessing the sites and locations. Data collected from all these four mechanisms together can be a robust demonstration of adequate exposure across the above settings.
Self Study Report
Can be included in Appendix 14D (Effectiveness of clinical curriculum) of the SSR.
Exxat Prism: Reports

Low score indicators (red highlight) for timely identification of struggling students
Best practice
Set up low score threshold and response-based email alerts for evaluation at question level. This feature allows you to get email alerts every time a student scores below the set threshold. Since each evaluation question is tied to program learner outcome, low score indicators (red highlight) and response-based email alerts enable timely identification of struggling students in real time throughout the rotation.
PA programs can avoid receiving citation by ARC-PA in this area by utilizing the above feature.
