The DCE Performance Survey in Exxat Prism is designed to evaluate the performance of Directors of Clinical Education (DCEs) in Physical Therapy programs. The survey aligns with APTA standards and supports structured, competency-based feedback from multiple evaluators.

This evaluation helps programs:

• Improve the overall clinical education experience
  Ensure the quality of the clinical education experience for students, which is a critical component of their physical therapy training.
   

• Provide meaningful, structured feedback to DCEs
  Provides structured feedback to the DCE, helping them understand how their performance is perceived by others.
   

• Maintain alignment with APTA benchmarks
  By adhering to APTA standards, the survey helps programs meet the association's benchmarks for clinical education and professional development.
   

• Identify improvement areas and training needs
  Identify issues such as a shortage of qualified DCEs or a need for additional training in certain areas. 

Survey Standards and Evaluation Approach

The DCE Performance Survey follows a competency-based assessment model:

• APTA-developed standards ensure consistency and reliability

• Rating scale (for example, 1–5) to evaluate behaviors and competencies

• Qualitative feedback through comments for deeper insights

Survey respondents assess areas such as:

• Communication effectiveness

• Organizational skills

• Feedback and mentoring ability

• Professional engagement

Types of DCE Survey Forms in Exxat Prism

Exxat Prism includes four built-in DCE survey templates:

1. Faculty assessment of ACCE/DCE performance

2. Student assessment of ACCE/DCE performance

3. Self-assessment and academic administrator assessment of ACCE/DCE performance

4. CI/CCCE assessment of ACCE/DCE performance

Create a DCE Performance Survey

Step 1: Access the Surveys App

1. Log in to Exxat Prism using your university credentials

2. Open the Surveys app from the dashboard

 

Step 2: Create a New Survey

1. Click Create Survey

   

Step 3: Enter Basic Details

1. Enter the following:

   • Survey Title

   • Survey Description

   • Closing Date
     

2. Set Access Settings to Private

3. (Optional) Add a cover image

4. Click Next
   

Step 4: Design the Survey Using a Template

1. Select Use a template
   

2. Choose the appropriate predefined DCE survey template
   

3. Review the survey questions

4. Click Next
   

Step 5: Distribute the Survey

You can distribute the survey in three ways:

Option 1: Distribute via Exxat Prism

1. Select Via Exxat Prism
   

2. Click Select Recipients

3. Choose the appropriate persona
   

4. Use filters to narrow down recipients

5. Select recipients and click Add / Update Recipients
   

Option 2: Add Additional Email Recipients

1. Select Additional Email
   

2. Click Add Recipients

3. Enter email IDs manually or

4. Upload a CSV file with email addresses

5. Click Add / Update Recipients

 

Option 3: Generate an Anonymous Link

1. Select Anonymous Link

2. Click Generate Public Link
   

3. Copy the survey URL or

4. Download the QR code to distribute
   

Step 6: Review and Email Setup

1. Review the selected recipients
   

    

2. Choose an email template
   
    

3. Save the selected template
   
    

4. Click Next to proceed
   

Step 7: Review and Publish

1. Review all survey details carefully

2. Click Publish
   
   
   

Access Survey Responses

Once published:

• The survey appears in the Survey List

• You can track participation

• View, analyze, and export responses for evaluation and reporting
