Adding or Creating a Self-Placement Request

If your course allows self-placement, you can create and submit your own clinical placement directly from your coursework section.

• Self-placement is available only for course offerings explicitly enabled by administrators.

• Approval rules are defined by your program.

• Rejected placements may require resubmission with corrections.

Note: Self-placement availability depends on your program’s settings. If you believe you should have access to self-placement but do not see this option, please contact your program administrator.

Steps

1. Login to Exxat Prism using your university credentials. 

2. Click View All Coursework in the My Coursework section on your dashboard or go to Coursework  from the hamburger menu.

3. In the Require Placement tab click Add Placement Request or Create Placement.
   Which button you see depends on your program’s approval configuration: 

   • Add Placement Request: If the placements request requires approval from the program administrator.
     

   • Create Placement : If the placements are auto approved. 
     

4. Fill the Create Your Own Placement form. 

   1. Select the course offering enabled for clinical placement

   2. Select the clinical rotation / time frame

   3. Select the schedule  for the time frame. 

   4. Enter, Start date and End date.

   5. Select the Location where the placement will be completed.

   6. Select the Clinical instructor.

   7. Select the Clinical setting.

   8. (Optional) Add additional notes for your school.

5. Click Add Placement Request or Create Placement  depending on the approval setting.

• If auto-approval is enabled: Your placement is accepted immediately.

• If approval is required: Your placement status will show Pending Review until reviewed by your school.

You can track your placement status directly from your Coursework section.
