This guide explains how to open AskLeo, ask questions, use contextual suggestions, navigate Exxat Prism, manage conversations, and provide feedback.
Overview
AskLeo is the AI assistant built into Exxat Prism. It helps students find guidance, continue a conversation with follow-up questions, and move to relevant pages without interrupting their work.
You can use AskLeo to:
- Ask questions about Exxat Prism features and student workflows.
- View suggested questions based on the area you are using.
- Receive step-by-step guidance for common tasks.
- Continue a discussion using follow-up questions.
- Navigate directly to a page or choose from matching destinations.
- Access and manage previous conversations.
AskLeo can make mistakes. Review important information before acting on it and contact your program or Exxat Support when you need immediate assistance.
Open AskLeo
- Sign in to Exxat Prism using your university credentials.
- Select the AskLeo icon in the application toolbar.
The AskLeo window opens. You can start a conversation, open a previous conversation, or select a suggested question.
Use Suggested Questions
The Welcome and New Chat screens provide questions that can help you get started. The suggestions may change based on your student role and the area from which you opened AskLeo.

Select a suggested question to submit it automatically. If no questions are mapped to your current role and area, AskLeo displays a general set of suggestions.
Ask Questions and Get Answers
Enter a question in the message box, then press Enter or select Send. Clear questions that include the relevant course, placement, activity, or time period usually produce more useful responses.

Continue the Conversation
AskLeo remembers the context of the current conversation. You can ask a follow-up question without repeating the full topic.

Start a new chat when you want to discuss an unrelated topic or keep the subjects separate in your conversation history.
Navigate Within Exxat Prism
AskLeo can open pages that have defined navigation links. The response depends on how specific your request is.
Open a Specific Page
When one page clearly matches your request, AskLeo displays a brief confirmation and opens the page or provides a direct link.

Choose from Matching Pages
When a request could refer to several pages, AskLeo displays a relevance-ranked list of matching destinations with short descriptions.
Show me my placement information
AskLeo may suggest
- Placement details for dates, site information, and related activities
- Patient Logs for recording or reviewing encounters
- Timesheets for entering or reviewing placement hours
- Forms and Evaluations for assigned placement forms
Select the destination you want to open. AskLeo shows up to five options at first. Select Show more when additional matches are available. If none of the options are correct, dismiss the list or refine your request with a page, course, or activity name.
Use Voice Input
You can speak a question instead of typing it.
1. Select the Microphone icon in the message box.
2. Speak your question.
3. Select the Stop icon when you finish.
AskLeo converts your speech to text and submits the question. Your browser must have permission to use a working microphone.
Manage Conversations
AskLeo saves your conversations so you can review or continue them later.

Deleted conversations are permanently removed and cannot be recovered.
Change Your Theme
AskLeo can update your display preference. For example, enter Change my theme to high contrast mode.
Manage the AskLeo Window

You can keep AskLeo open while navigating pages and reviewing information in Exxat Prism.
Provide Feedback
After AskLeo responds, select Thumbs Up when the answer is helpful or Thumbs Down when it is not. Feedback is submitted immediately and helps improve future responses.
Best Practices
Ask one clear question at a time.
- Include the relevant course, placement, assignment, activity, or date when it affects the answer.
- Use follow-up questions when you want more detail about the same subject.
- Start a new chat when you change topics.
- Review important information before acting on a response.
- Do not enter confidential information that is not needed for your question.
AskLeo follows your Exxat Prism permissions. It does not give student users access to pages or information outside their assigned permissions.
