The Student Dashboard gives you a central view of your academic and experiential learning activities in Exxat Prism.
From the dashboard, you can review program requirements, placement information, experiential progress, announcements, compliance tasks, notifications, patient logs, timesheets, and other activities assigned by your program.
The information displayed on your dashboard may vary depending on your program configuration and assigned activities.
Before you can begin using Exxat, you’ll need to get invited to the system. In this document, we will demonstrate how to set up your account and familiarize yourself with the Exxat Prism System.
There are two types of login access:
- Standard Accounts: Utilizes a unique password to access your Prism account.
- Single Sign On Accounts(SSO): Utilizes your schools third party identity verification software to access your Exxat Prism account. No additional password creation is needed!
There are two types of dashboards you will see based on your access to the different programs you are enrolled in or working with.
- Access to Single Programs
- Access to Multiple Programs
- Reset Password
1. You will receive an email from notifications@exxat.com in your inbox.

- Click on the hyperlink to go to Exxat.
- If the link does not work, copy and paste the URL provided in a new tab/window.
If you haven’t activated your account and attempt to log in to Exxat Prism, the login screen will prompt you to check your inbox for the invitation email. This prompt will include the email address to which the activation link was sent and the date it was sent.
Search your inbox for the invitation email. If you still can’t find it, click the Resend Link button to receive a new invitation email with the activation link.
Once you receive the email, click the activation link to activate your account. After activation, complete your profile and upload the required documents for your program.
2. You’ll be redirected to Exxat Prism. Enter your new password following the guidelines. Click on the Submit button once ready.
3. You’ll then get a confirmation message letting you know your password setup was successful.
4. You can now login to your account! Head on over to exxat.com and enter the email address for which you received the invitation, along with your password. Then click on the next button.
Please note, Internet Explorer is not a supported browser.
5. Before you can login, you must agree to Exxat’s Privacy Policy and Terms of Use. Click on the privacy policy and terms of use hyperlinks to view the related documents. Click on the Accept button when you are ready.
6. To get familiar with Exxat Prism, read the Navigating Exxat section below.
Single Sign On Login
- You will receive an email from notifications@exxat.com in your inbox.
- Click on the hyperlink to go to Exxat Prism.

If you haven’t activated your account and attempt to log in to Exxat Prism, the login screen will prompt you to check your inbox for the invitation email. This prompt will include the email address to which the activation link was sent and the date it was sent.
Search your inbox for the invitation email. If you still can’t find it, click the Resend Link button to receive a new invitation email with the activation link.
Once you receive the email, click the activation link to activate your account. After activation, complete your profile and upload the required documents for your program.
- You’ll be redirected to Exxat. Click on the Activate button.
- The system will inform you that your account activation is in progress. You will receive a notification once your account is ready for you to access.
- To login to your account, go to exxat.com and enter your school email address in the username field, then click on the Next button. You will be redirected to your school’s login page.
- Login to your school portal. Once you are done, you’ll be redirected to Exxat Prism.
- Before you can login, you must agree to Exxat’s Privacy Policy and Terms of Use. Click Accept when ready.

Access to Single Programs
When you first log in using your login credentials you will land on the Exxat Prism Dashboard
Access to Multiple Programs
Your school may want to provide you access to multiple programs.
Your school can achieve this by setting up dual enrollment access for you.
If they set up dual enrollment access for your account, when you login you will be taken to a page like this one:
You can click on one of the program cards to access the dashboard of that program.
Please Note -
- Your Profile will not be synchronized across all programs. You will needs to update your profile details separately within each program.
Exploring Student Dashboard
The Student Dashboard is the main page you see after accessing your program in Exxat Prism. It brings together information from different parts of your program so you can quickly identify what has been completed and what may still require your attention.
The dashboard is organized into three main content areas:
- Left pane — Profile information, Program Requirements, My Experiential Progress, Announcements, and Quick Actions.
- Middle pane — Placement Timeline and placement-related activities such as Patient Log, Timesheets, and Forms & Evaluations. Additional resources and coursework may be displayed farther down the page.
- Right pane: School Compliance, My Competency Tracker, and Needs Attention.
A navigation bar at the top of the page provides access to notifications, Help, Chat, Ask Leo, and account options.
Dashboard Header
The navigation bar at the top of the Student Dashboard provides quick access to commonly used Exxat Prism features.
Depending on your configuration, the header can include:
- Menu — Opens the main Exxat Prism navigation.
- Dashboard — Indicates that you are currently viewing the Student Dashboard.
- App launcher — Provides access to available Exxat applications.
- Notifications — Displays notifications associated with your account and program.
- Help — Opens available help and support resources.
- Chat — Provides access to support chat.
- Announcements — Provides access to announcement-related information when available.
- Ask Leo — Opens Exxat's AI assistant.
- User and program menu — Displays your name and program and provides access to available account options.
Notifications
Exxat Prism can notify you about important activities and updates related to your program.
Select the bell icon in the top navigation bar to review notifications available in Prism. When new notifications are available, a numbered badge can appear on the bell icon.
For example, the latest dashboard screenshot shows a badge with 1, indicating that notifications are available for review.
Depending on your school's configuration, notifications may be delivered:
- In Exxat Prism
- By email
- Through both methods
Notifications configured for students can include:
- Placement Published: Sent when a placement is published.
- Placement Updated: Sent when a published placement is updated.Intervention Published — Sent when an intervention is published to you.
- Intervention Follow-up: Sent when a follow-up to an intervention is published to you.Communication
- Published: Sent when a communication is published to you.
- Communication Follow-up: Sent when a follow-up to a communication is published to you.

Profile Attestations: Sent when a Profile Attestation is published to you.
Note:Your school determines which notification events are enabled and whether they are delivered in Exxat Prism, by email, or through both methods.
My Notifications Preferences
My Notifications Preferences lets you control how you receive supported notifications in Exxat Prism. You can choose whether certain notification events appear In Prism, by Email, or through both channels when those options are available. This article explains how to review and update your notification preferences.
Control how you receive notifications in Exxat Prism.
- Select the Notifications bell in the top navigation bar.
- Select the More options icon (⋮) next to a notification.
- Select Manage preferences.
- In My Notifications, select or clear the available delivery options:
- In Prism – Receive the notification within Prism.
- Email – Receive the notification by email.
- Select Save Preferences to apply your changes.
Notification options may vary depending on the event and your program’s settings.
Profile Information
Your profile card appears in the upper-left area of the dashboard.
It displays basic account information such as your:
- Profile picture
- Name
- Email address
Select Edit to review or update the profile information available to you.
If required profile information is incomplete, a message can appear above the profile card. Select Review Now to review the missing information.
Program Requirements
The Program Requirements section provides a summary of your current requirement status.
The dashboard can display counts for:
- Pending
- Placed
- Completed
A colored progress bar provides a visual overview of these statuses.
Select the arrow next to Program Requirements to access additional information when available.
My Experiential Progress
The My Experiential Progress section summarizes experiential learning activity associated with your placements.
Depending on your program configuration, the dashboard can display information such as:
- Completed placements
- Total approved hours
- Total approved logs
A progress indicator may also show your approved activity relative to the applicable total.
If placement activity is not yet available, the dashboard may indicate that learning experience information will appear after placement.
Announcements
The Announcements card displays announcements associated with your course or placement.
Each announcement can display information such as:
- Announcement title
- Description
- Date
Select View All to review additional announcements.Quick Actions
The Quick Actions section provides shortcuts to commonly used areas in Exxat Prism.
Depending on your program configuration, available shortcuts can include:
- Learning activities
- Competency dashboard
- Coursework
- Learning activity report
Select a shortcut to open the corresponding area.
Placement Timeline
The Placement Timeline appears at the top of the middle pane and provides access to your placements.
The number beside Placement Timeline indicates how many placements are available.
Placements are displayed as selectable tabs across the top of the timeline. If more placements are available than can be displayed at one time, use the left or right arrows to move through them.
Select a placement tab to display information for that placement.
The selected placement can show:
- Placement status
- Placement or course name
- Placement ID
- Placement dates
- Location
- Setting
- Activities requiring attention
The latest interface also displays status and alert icons directly on some placement tabs.
Placement status
A status label such as Ongoing identifies the current status of the selected placement.
The control near the upper-right area of the Placement Timeline can also display the number of placements matching that status.
Placement Details
After selecting a placement in the Placement Timeline, its details appear in the card below.
Information can include the placement name, ID, dates, location, setting, and status.
Select View Placement Details to review additional information for the selected placement.
Items Requiring Your Attention
A selected placement can display tasks that need to be reviewed before or during the placement.
Examples shown in the current interface include:
- A location that is missing a required document
- Compliance documents that require attention
- Course attestations requiring agreement
Select Review Now next to an item to review the requirement and take the appropriate action.
Patient Log
If patient logging is enabled for your placement, the Patient Log section summarizes your patient log activity.
The dashboard can display:
- Total logs
- Approved
- Need Attention
Select Add Patient Log to begin recording a patient encounter.
- Click Add Patient Log to record a new patient encounter.

In the Add Patient Log drawer, enter the required encounter and patient information.
Depending on your program configuration, you may be able to:
- Create patient logs.
- Edit existing patient logs.
- Save patient logs as drafts.
- Submit patient logs for review and approval.
- Download patient logs as PDF files.
- Create and use patient log templates.
In the Add Patient Log drawer, click Save, Submit or Download as PDF as required.

The above cards are configurable based on the domain requirements. In cases where patient logs or timesheets are not utilized, these cards are not displayed. Additionally, for domains where patient logs are tracked by total hours rather than counts, the cards will display hours instead of counts. If neither patient logs nor timesheets have been set up for a course offering, then these cards are not displayed.
Timesheets
If timesheets are enabled for your placement, the Timesheets section provides access to recorded placement hours.
Recent or in-progress time entries can be displayed directly on the dashboard.
An entry can show information such as:
- Date
- Start or check-in time
- End or check-out time
Select an entry to review its details.
If additional entries are available, select View more.
The dashboard can also display a summary of:
- Total hours
- Approved
- Not Approved
Configurable cards that display total, approved, and pending hours for a placement.
Click Add Time Entry to record placement hours.

In the Add Time Entry drawer, enter the required information such as the date, time worked, break time, clinical instructor, and notes, as configured by your program.
You can:
Create timesheet entries.
Edit existing timesheet entries.
Save entries as drafts.
Send entries for review and approval.

Track approved and pending hours.
Click Save to keep the entry as a draft.
Click Send for Review to submit the entry to the assigned faculty member, preceptor, or clinical instructor for approval.

Forms & Evaluations
The Forms & Evaluations section provides access to forms and evaluations associated with your placement.
Select View All Forms to review the forms and evaluations available to you.
The availability of Patient Logs, Timesheets, and Forms & Evaluations are configurable based on the domain requirements. In cases where patient logs or timesheets are not utilized, these cards are not displayed.
My Coursework
The My Coursework card provides access to coursework available to you.
Select View All Coursework to open your coursework.
School Compliance
The School Compliance card provides a summary of your compliance progress.
The card displays information such as:
- Completed requirements
- Remaining requirements
- A progress indicator
Select the available navigation control on the card to review additional compliance information.
My Competency Tracker
The My Competency Tracker card allows you to monitor your progress toward program competencies. Competencies are measured based on completed evaluations, assessments, and other program requirements.
Click My Competency Tracker to view detailed competency information, including competency categories, achievement progress, and related evaluation data.

Use the competency tracker to:
- Review your competency progress.
- Identify competencies that require additional attention.
- Monitor completed and outstanding competency requirements.
- Track progress throughout your academic program.

Needs Attention
The Needs Attention card brings together tasks that require your action.
The number beside Needs Attention indicates the number of task items displayed or available in this area.
Depending on your program configuration, tasks can include:
- Wishlists
- Profile attestations
- Published slots
- Site requirements
- Location requirement uploads
- Other placement-related activities
Select an individual item to review and complete the required action.
Select View All to review additional items when available.
Profile attestations
If a Profile Attestation has been assigned to you, the Needs Attention card can display Complete profile attestation along with the number of pending attestations.
Select the item to review the outstanding attestation.
- School Resources: Click to view all the resources that the school has shared with you.
- Explore Clinical Locations: Click to learn more about the clinical sites associated with your academic program.
- School Contacts: Click to review the contact information for the faculty and staff from your program that is shared with you.
- Exxat Prism Learning Hub: Click to view help documents, video tutorials, and FAQs for Exxat PRISM.

Need More Assistance: Click one of the following if you need assistance:
- Get Support: Allows you to raise a support ticket with PRISM.
- Chat with Agents: Allows you to chat live with our PRISM support.
- Ask Leo: AI help support that provides related information for your questions.
Reset Password
If you have forgotten your password for Exxat Prism, you can easily reset it by following the below steps:
1. On the Exxat Prism login page (https://login.exxat.com/) enter your username / School email address.
2. The next screen will prompt you to enter your password.
If you've forgotten your Exxat Prism password, please click on the "Forgot Password" link.
3. After clicking on "Forgot Password" you will be prompted to enter your username/email.
4. An email will be sent to you from <notification@exxat.com> with instructions on how to create a new password. Click on "Reset your password" and follow steps to create a new password.
5. Once you have created a new password you will be redirected to the login page again.
