This article explains how to submit requests through Cisive, complete the required screening steps, and monitor the status of your compliance requirements.
Before You Begin
Ensure that:
- Your institution has enabled the Cisive integration.
- You have access to your Exxat Prism account.
- Your Exxat profile contains a valid email address.
- You are prepared to provide personal information and supporting documentation, if required.
- You have a valid payment method available if your program requires student payment.
Request a Background Check
Follow these steps to request a background check.
- Log in to Exxat Prism using your university credentials.
- Open the Compliance section using one of the following methods:
- On the dashboard, locate the Compliance tile and select View All.
- From the hamburger menu, select Compliance.
- Under Mandatory Requirements, locate the CISIVE Background Check requirement, and in the Status column click Get Started.
- Review the CISIVE Background Requirement details and click "+" icon in the Order Details
- Enter the order details.
- First Name
- Last Name
- Phone Number
- Email id
- Review your information and click Request screening Link.
Important
Ensure your legal name matches your government-issued identification document. Incorrect information may delay the screening process.
- Confirm Submission.
After the request is submitted, Cisive will send an email with login details and detailing the next steps.
Complete CISIVE Onboarding for a Background Check
After your order is submitted, Cisive sends an email containing:
- User ID
- Temporary password
- Login instructions
Alternatively in the Cisive Background Requirement details page, go to Step 1 Form Filling and Payment and click Cisive Login.
- Open the email from Cisive and click Login.
Alternatively in the Cisive Background Requirement details page, go to Step 1 Form Filling and Payment and click Cisive Login. - Enter the User ID and temporary password as provided in the email.
- Confirm your identity using the primary phone number submitted while creating the Cisive order in Exxat Prism.
- Create a new password when prompted.
- Sign in using your new password.
- Select Background check task from the list or select Start Wizard to take you to the required screen and click Continue.
- Enter the Basic Information and Contact Information. Most of the fields are pre-filled with provided data , review the pre-filled forms and edit if required, and complete the blank fields.
- Review the information provided and click Submit.
- Complete various authorization and disclosure forms.
- Submit electronic signature for authorization.
- Review the State-specific choices and notifications.
- Submit Payment
Your institution determines how payment is handled. Depending on your program:- You may be required to pay for the background check.
Your institution may cover the cost.
If payment is required, Cisive displays payment instructions during the onboarding process. Complete the payment before proceeding.
Important
Contact your program administrator if you are unsure whether payment is required.
The submission is successful and you can track the status in Exxat Prism.

You can monitor the status of your background check from the compliance requirement in Exxat Prism.
Status Reference

| In Progress | Cisive is conducting verification and screening activities. |
| Pending Review | Screening activities are complete and results are under review. |

Troubleshooting
