• Slots can be added to Exxat Prism multiple ways, not just through the built-in slot request. Programs can add slots directly at the site or location level, through the placement module, or use the "direct placement" feature to skip the slot step entirely and assign a student immediately — a major time-saver when a site confirms a specific student.
   
• A pre-slot request checklist prevents downstream headaches. Before sending slot requests, programs should ensure cohorts are created, course offerings are cloned, rotations are built, sites/locations are organized, recipients have correct email preferences enabled, and email templates are pre-configured in the new Notification Hub.
   
• Publishing slots gives programs a middle-ground option between full wishlists and manual placement. Programs can selectively publish received slots to specific students (e.g., bilingual students, those needing interview-required sites, or first-come-first-serve slots), gather student interest responses, and then notify sites — all without requiring a formal wishlist process.
   
• Multiple wishlist types serve different discipline workflows. Slot-based wishlists have students rank available confirmed slots; location-based (reverse) wishlists gather preferences before slots are secured; and MyRequest wishlists let students propose sites not yet in the system — with configurable minimum/maximum selections, custom questionnaire questions, and automated open/close notifications.
   
• Self-placement requests reduce administrative burden for predictable or student-driven placements. Ideal for on-campus clinics, volunteer/simulation hours, or interview-confirmed placements, this feature lets students select from pre-approved locations in the system with either auto-approval or admin review — and can be enabled selectively for specific course offerings rather than program-wide.
